NCAP Policy Priorities

NCAP works to protect community and environmental health through important policy campaigns in our region. In addition to on the ground research and education about alternatives, we support meaningful policies that reduce or eliminate pesticide use where people live, learn, work, and play.

Policies we are currently prioritizing:

How we do our policy work:

  • Centering the voices of those most impacted while crafting policy messaging and during civic engagement activities, including public testimonies and comments.
  • Providing support for local and county pesticide use changes, including IPM (Integrated Pest Management) Policies and Pesticide Use Reduction Programs.
  • Connecting groups working on agricultural policy reform to merge farmer and worker focused efforts through a lens of environmental and social justice and food sovereignty.
  • Building consensus around top policy changes affecting farmers in our network and conducting grassroots outreach to advocate for policies that support them.
  • Working to educate elected officials, regulatory agency staff and community leaders about our policy priorities.
  • Collaborating with partner organizations on mutually agreed upon priorities and roles to ensure our issues are heard in the halls of power.
